IN-KL-01 will be shut down on 2026-04-02 08:00 IST and will be turned on around 2026-04-02 17:00 IST. All on-premises services (PIA, GitLab) will be inaccessible during this period.

On-Premises Outage (again!)
There is an ongoing outage on IN-KL-01. Due to time zone differences, it might take at least 4 hours till we can get it back on it’s feet.

On-Premises Outage
DIT is aware of an on-premises outage. Please hold on while we attempt to fix the same.
EDIT: server was started around midnight EDT (03/23 00:20).

Anubis Deployment across Devi Nivas Web Services
We are gradually deploying the latest version of Anubis to all our web-based systems, starting with on-premises applications. If your device or software cannot run Anubis, please contact DIT.
As of today’s date, Devi Nivas GitLab has Anubis deployed to it. This article will be updated as and when Anubis is added to more systems.
We are still planning to develop an in-house alternative to Anubis, however, this might take until Fall ’27.

HTTP-only Time Service is back up!
BranchPredictor4000’s Time Service is back up, this time powered by Devi Nivas DIT on family property!
Note that this is just timehttp.bp4k.net, the HTTPS version is still down and will be down since there are a plethora of other HTTPS-based alternatives.
What’s even better is that I promise to keep this up for as long as DIT gets financing as part of DISH. I understand that if this API goes down, it could potentially break a lot of code since it’s meant to be polled by embedded systems, so I’ll do my best to minimize downtime. I’ll also personally fund it if it really gets that popular.
Once we get servers on family property in the States, I’ll move the Time Service there.
P.S. the only reason it defaults to America/New_York is because I wanted to avoid a command injection. I’ll probably have a more efficient Flask app with more customization if the service becomes popular.
Let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns.

Major On-Premises Outage
There is a complete blackout of IN-KL-01 right now. The cause is unknown at the moment since remote access tools run on the same server, which is inaccessible. DIT is waiting for a member to get on-site. This might take upwards of two hours.

On-premises power outage
On 02/16/2026, a power outage of duration 1.5 hours had occurred on-premises. This was long enough to exhaust our power backups, meaning the on-prem cluster was down during this time period.
All services have now been restored to a functional state.
Devi Nivas members can check the intranet article for more information.

US-VA-01 upgrade complete
The long pending upgrade to US-VA-01 has finally been completed. In the process, we got rid of some unused sites. Here are a list of sites now hosted on this server:
- people.devinivas.org (PDO)
- git.devinivas.org (Git)1
- dish.devinivas.org (DISH Homepage)
To make optimal use of our limited resources, there will be an indefinite hiatus on the following services:
- time.bp4k.net (Devi Nivas HTTP Time Service) and its HTTP-only sister site
- git.bp4k.net (now only accessible via git.devinivas.org)
There is also a temporary hiatus on gt3.in, which we do plan to get up and running soon.
On a technical note, we bid adieu to Apache2 and now use NGINX instead. This gets rid of htaccess/htpasswd configuration options but the site now loads with reduced latency. We have also increased the EC2 tier of the server (i.e. more RAM) hence response times should further improve from the previously sluggish performance. We have also gotten rid of Anubis and will replace it with an equivalent in-house system later next year.
We have also updated the DISH information page, adding adequate information that can give context to family members who aren’t a part of the project yet.
As with the last IN-MH-01 update, if you notice any discrepancies, such as missing data or pages that have lost protection, please contact DISH support immediately. We’ll be retaining the old instance for a month from today.
-Your friendly sysadmins!
- For security reasons, push access has been removed for all previously authorized users. Please contact DISH support to be added again. ↩︎

- end time has been updated (at 2025-12-15 23:12 IST)! (NB most services have been migrated to a functional state at this time.) ↩︎

US-VA-01 Maintenance
We’ll be upgrading US-VA-01 during the Winter Break. Expect downtime on people.devinivas.org, dish.devinivas.org, git.devinivas.org and related sites for the following week (2025-12-14 to 2025-12-20).
