BranchPredictor4000’s Time Service is back up, this time powered by Devi Nivas DIT on family property!
Note that this is just timehttp.bp4k.net, the HTTPS version is still down and will be down since there are a plethora of other HTTPS-based alternatives.
What’s even better is that I promise to keep this up for as long as DIT gets financing as part of DISH. I understand that if this API goes down, it could potentially break a lot of code since it’s meant to be polled by embedded systems, so I’ll do my best to minimize downtime. I’ll also personally fund it if it really gets that popular.
Once we get servers on family property in the States, I’ll move the Time Service there.
P.S. the only reason it defaults to America/New_York is because I wanted to avoid a command injection. I’ll probably have a more efficient Flask app with more customization if the service becomes popular.
Let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns.
